# Galerin

Galerin is an online gallery where independent visual artists sell made-to-order archival prints and take direct commissions. Every work is made by a person, and the discovery feed is ranked by genuine collector attention — saves, views and commission requests — so what surfaces is what people actually held onto.

## What Galerin is

A gallery, not a marketplace. Artists list work, collectors buy archival prints
made one at a time, and commissions run directly between the two with funds held
in escrow until the piece is delivered.

## The four surfaces

- **Prints** — made-to-order archival prints of work by independent artists.
  Nothing is printed until someone buys it.
- **Commissions** — a collector briefs an artist directly; Galerin holds the
  money in escrow and releases it after a review window once the work lands.
- **Art Opens** — a themed quarterly open call decided by an anonymous
  community vote. Any artist on the platform can enter one piece. Coming soon;
  the first call has not run yet.
- **Wall-Space** — a quarterly art magazine, in print. Coming soon; Issue 01
  arrives Spring 2027.

## How discovery works

Ranking is computed from collector attention: saves count heaviest, then
commission requests, then views, with an exponential recency decay over thirty
days. Signed-in collectors also get an affinity bonus toward the tags and
mediums they have saved before. Editorial picks are curated by hand and surface
at the top. Placement is not for sale.

## Access

The gallery is open. Anyone can browse the feed, artist pages and artwork pages
without an account, and a print can be bought as a guest. An account is needed
to save work, commission an artist, or sell your own work.

Two features are not live yet: Art Opens and Wall-Space. Those two pages take a
notify-me email; nothing else on the site asks for one.
